My 95 sonta is dying at stop signs but RUNS great past 1.ooo rpms. It spits and sputters. NOw the belt loud?

gesh we just got this car. My HUSBAND did not drive it and we have heard a hundred different things that COuld be wrond. We called AutoZOne and they said to Clean Out the Hos's with some kind of brake spray??? i dont know what to do...sad thing is ,is that its a great car when it runs past 1.000 rpms but other then that it shakes and wants and some times dies!!!! plz help me help my husband!! thanks for all the answers.
