Physics Question Concerning Cars?

well as you know the straight line is always shorter than oblique line, when the car is changing lane, in fact, it is driving longer route toward the same direction, so with the same speed and the same time that both cars are riding straight to one direction, the one with a little longer path(because of oblique route) then the distance would increase within two cars. Imagen a triangle, with a corner of 90, a straight line between 2 corners is always shorter than diagonal one.
